AUTO HANDWASHING MACHINE – HELPING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
(Sierra Leone)
An electronic sensor- operated, a user-friendly hand washing machine that automatically dispenses soap, water, hand dryer, and voice alert reminder. Developed by Franklyn Kamara, a young Civil Engineering graduate from Milton Margai College of Education and Technology. “I observed that people living with disabilities were marginalized, because they cannot use pedal-controlled handwashing machines that have been launched in the country. This is why my team and I, developed this device to help meet the needs of people with disabilities.”
